One of Nachojawn’s dirty secrets is that nachos are not always my go to on a menu. For me, a good mole poblano is the best dish on the menu.
I’m not disclosing nachos, obviously. But there are times and circumstances when I order outside the nacho box.
One occasion was a recent trip to Taqueria Veracruzana, one of the OG’s in Philadelphia’s Mexican food scene.
As promised, I got the enchiladas mole.
They were ok, a clear second place to my favorites at Mole Poblano. The mole here had bitter chocolate notes that were just a bit off putting.
My go to for years here were the al pastor tacos. I’ll have to come back with Nachojawn Jr for his thoughts.
