Los Jimenez – Special Gold Cup Report

Nachojawn and frequent dining companions El Dentista Loco and El Softbal Rey had tickets to the Gold Cup final Sunday night. Although the US team let us down, we were still fired up to see El Tri take on the Reggae Boyz at the Linc.

Before the game we headed over to Los Jimenez Mexican Cocin, a new joint opened by Justino Jimenez, who was formerly in the kitchens of Amis and Vetri.

We ordered quite a bit of food, the early reviews on the al pastor tacos were great.

We thought the chicken tinga quesadilla was even better. But you’re here to hear about the nachos.

These spicy white bean nachos are pretty unique, very light on the cheese and infused with chiles de arbol. Confirmed Nachojawn reader Craig LaBan notes the Italian influence on this dish. They were excellent.

4.65/5 pickled jalapeños – eat these before a trip to the stadium.

How did the Mexicans feel about the food there? See the below video for an idea.
